01Introduction
EquitX Markets, Corp. (“EquitX”, “we”, “us”) operates joinequitx.com, a secondary marketplace for live event tickets. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the marketplace, how we use it, and the choices you have.
02Data we collect
- Account data — email address and name, provided through Clerk when you sign up.
- Bid and transaction data — the bids, asks, listings, and orders you submit, together with the resulting clearing-price assignments.
- Payment data — processed by Stripe. Card numbers and bank credentials are never stored on EquitX servers; we retain only the tokenised reference and the transaction amount.
- Product analytics — anonymised usage events captured through PostHog so we can understand how the marketplace is used and where it can be improved.
- Authentication metadata — session and device information from Clerk, used to keep you signed in and to detect suspicious activity.
- Listing materials — sellers provide proof of possession when creating a listing (uploaded ticket files or transfer credentials). These are stored securely and shared with the matched buyer at clearing.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and basic device information collected automatically when you access the marketplace.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in and to measure product usage. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
03How we use it
We use the data we collect to:
- operate the marketplace and run the batch auctions;
- match buyers and sellers and assign tickets at clearing;
- process payments and disburse seller proceeds;
- prevent fraud and abuse of the platform;
- comply with our legal and tax obligations.
04Subprocessors
EquitX relies on the following subprocessors. Each is bound by data processing terms equivalent to those described in this policy:
- Clerk — authentication and account management.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- PostHog — product analytics.
- AWS — infrastructure.
- Vercel — application hosting.
05Data retention
Transactional records are retained for as long as legal, tax, and accounting requirements demand. Account data is deleted on request, subject to those same retention obligations for past transactions.
06Your rights (CCPA, GDPR)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction or deletion of that data;
- opt out of the sale of your personal data — EquitX does not sell personal data to third parties;
- receive a portable copy of your data in a structured, common format.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below.
07Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the marketplace or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
